Me LOVE

I thought this was super cute image and I was excited to get coloring something "metal".  It is perfect for some 'tween aged kid I think.  It didn't take that long to color even with all the bits and pieces of body parts.  You can find "Gage" and his other poses at Scrappers Delights.

I thought while I was coloring Gage up I would make a video so you can follow along, plus I added some tips and tricks to coloring metal.  I hope you will check it out.  If you liked it,  give me a thumbs up, and feel free to share it and subscribe while you are at it...cause you don't want to miss the next one I do.  MWAH!

Happy Keister

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter full of laughing, family and fun!  I am not a huge fan of any of our holidays.  I guess I am a holiday grump...my poor deprived children.  But to those that love them...have a great day...hope this gives you a giggle.

QUirKy BLOobeL!

Can you say QUirKY!  FuN!  WilD! OrigInal!  Yes, those words describe Bloobel Digital Stamps.  I couldn't wait to color this one up!  I have a handful more on the "drawing board" too.  You have got to go check out this store Bloobel Stamps.

If you were one of the lucky ones you got this image free...yes FREE!  If you join the Fb group she tries to give away a fun image every month.  I drew the little chickies coming out of the hat...but you can add anything you want.

Bloobel is also a sponsor at the May Boot Camp.  I am so thrilled with this and these images...if you don't laugh at them you are a "sour-puss" and need a spoon full of honey.

Must Have's - Copic Opaque White

If you haven't gotten any Copic Opaque White yet it is a MUST for your Copic supplies.  Last week I posted a large piece of artwork I created using the Copic Wides and in that piece I created the appearance of water drops on the splats, using the Copic Opaque White and a fine paint brush.
Most the time in the past I use it sparingly for the whites of eyes or the center of a flower but this time I actually used it as a paint and "painted" with it.  Adding the Opaque White to the edge of the drops and then adding a little water to the brush I brought the white inward.  The further out I brought it and the more watered down it was the more translucent it became.  I really loved the look...so much so i am going to experiment some more.

You can fine the Opaque White in two different containers depending on what you plan on using it for.  If you decide to buy the jar of opaque white here are a few hints for you.

  • Water-based pigment
  • Easy warm water clean-up
  • Net. 30 cc
Perfect for finishing highlights and effects. It won't bleed into your base color and allows for sharp line definition. Opaque White works great on permanent inks as well as water color. Apply Opaque white with a brush. Easily thins with water for added effects.

1.  Always stir before use.  I found that it tends to separate and the water ends up towards the bottom.    If you want a nice even mixture...then mix

2.  If it has to much air exposed to it it will thicken.  Just add a tiny amount of water to refresh it.

3.  ALWAYS wipe off the rim before closing it snugly or air can get into it and it will dry up.

** I like to store mine upside-down to eliminate issues with air.

  • Water-based pigment
  • Easy warm water clean-up
  • Net 10 ml
The other way it comes is in a smaller bottle with a fine liner brush.  It already has the applicator with it so you do not have to carry a paint brush around with it.  It makes applying the highlights and details so easy.  It won't bleed into your base colors which is so nice when adding highlights.

Give it a try and see what you think!

Bouquet For You!

Here is the NEW digi release from Power Poppy.  I love all the different flowers incorporated into this bouquet, don't you?  It really does feel like spring!  I can almost smell the lilacs which is a favorite fragrance of mine.  Even with all the details in this digi it was not too hard to color and didn't take me to long.  I am in love with the little bee that I cut off and added by the sentiment.

Must Have's - Copic Wide

Have you ever gone into an office and looked at the artwork on the walls?  The ones they put up for that more "home-like" feel, but if it gets stolen they won't lose sleep over it?  Do you say to yourself "I could make that!"  Well that is just what I have done (of course I added a little of my own fluff to it too).  I have to admit this idea came out of my head...somewhere buried deep but seems like something I would see in an office.  This large 18 x 24 picture was created using some very fun Copic tools.  Have you played with the Copic Wide markers yet?

I used 5 Wide markers to create the main portion of this picture shown above.  With my handy dandy metal ruler I just drew long wide lines using the Copic Wide C1, C3 C5 C7 graduating from the lightest to the darkest and then drawing blocks with the C9.  It is quite easy and because the marker is so wide you just slightly overlap to get the thickness of the lines you desire.
Did you know the wide makers are about 1" wide?  You can use the wide angle or make finer lines by just using the tip.  I had fun making this.

After I was done with the wide lines and boxes I could have stopped there and had that perfect piece of artwork but NOOOOO, I kept going by adding splats and drops.

Can you guess what I am going to talk about in my next post?  How I did the splats and water drops!  Be sure and hang around for more!

When buying a Copic Wide marker get the Various refill for it too.  The barrel is smaller and the tip is WIDE so you will go through ink a bit faster then you might be used to with a sketch marker.  Besides you NEVER want to run out of ink for our precious markers!

All products used to make this artwork can be purchased through Imagination International Inc.

Un-Frog-ettable

Thought I would blow all you followers a little kiss from me using this digital stamp from Scrappers Delights.  I am a big fan of fun frogs so when i saw this one I think I squealed a little!  I couldn't help but whip something up right away.  This was a fun getaway from what I was supposed to be doing.  Of course I had to flip the frog upside-down because I wanted to be different...when do I realize I already am?  Ha ha.  I added a few Cattails to make a mini scene.  Now back to "work".

A little Mouse with that Coffee

How cute is this?!  It was super fun to color too.  I love these little guys helping each other out.  I threw on a little sparkle to the sugar cubes too...okay off to go get me some coffee (of course mouse free).

Bubbles

Another fun and challenging challenge from Make It Colourful challenge blog.  I had so much fun playing with "bubbles"  I kept the card really simple as the image speaks for itself.  I hope you will try bubbles on your next card.
